This page hopefully has useful information regarding safe internet viewing by everyone. There should be stuff here for webmasters, parents and anyone else who wants to protect themselves.

Microsoft Internet Explorer has in it a content adviser, this can be set to any strictness of content. It allows you to say what levels of Language, Nudity, Sex, and Violence, is allowed on websites to be viewed using your Internet Explorer browser. To activate it just follow the instructions below and/or go to the recommended website to follow there tips. Please read all of this section before going through the steps.
Step 1) Open Internet Explorer by either clicking on the desktop icon, or through the start menu.
Step 2) Click on 'Tools' along the top of the browser, this drops a menu down which has the following 'Mail and News', 'Sychronise', 'Windows Update',..., 'Internet Options'. (Your menu may have slightly different order of items, or slightly different items).
Step 3) Click on 'Interet Options'. From this window click on the 'Content' Tab (the content button).
Step 4) Now click on 'Contents Adviser', you will be asked to set up a password, and then to confirm the password. DO NOT CHOICE AN OBVIOUS PASSWORD THAT WILL BE EASILY GUESSED BY THE USERS YOUR TRYING TO PROTECT! (i.e. don't choose your password for your internet service provider [such as freeserve, virgin, care4free,...], or you username for you internet service provider, or anyother password/username that you use that the children or other users know)
Step 5) Set up the levels of protection. For most protection go to the far left options, for least (very slack) protection go to far right options.
For example with young kids you may want :
Language (0)= "Inoffensive slang",
Nudity (0) = "No nudity",
Sex (0) = "No sexual activity portrayed. Romance",
Violence (0) = "No violence".
But if your protecting a teenager then maybe level 3 would be high enough, I'll not going into to much detail here as you can see for yourself the levels given.
Step 6) Approve sites. Here you can approve sites you know are safe! Such as your internet service provider, sites the kids use alot for homework, football sites,...
FOR BETTER INSTRUCTIONS THAT WILL PROVIDE BETTER PROTECTION PLEASE GO TO THE ICRA WEBSITE, EITHER BY CLICKING HERE OR ON THEIR LOGO AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. THE ICRA RATING SYSTEM AND CONTENT ADVISER ALLOWS YOU TO HAVE MORE CONTROL OVER WHAT IS ACCESSED USING YOUR FAMILIES COMPUTER!!!! IT GOES FURTHER THAN THE SYSTEM DISCRIBED ABOVE (thats why I asked you to read all the way through the section).
