[[IS THIS LEGAL? IF YOU KNOW IT ISN'T EMAIL ME!]]

"If its good music you don't need to analyse it, just enjoy it" - Travis (2002)

I have tried to add the official website of the band, and if possibe one fansite
I can't appologize for the over use of the words Great, Genius, and Amazing in these reviews!

The Beatles Official * Beatles Beatles Beatles (Unofficial)

The Beatles! The World's most successful and influential bands of all time!

Their first official site, 30 years after splitting up! Got games and general information about the #1 songs on the
1 album! The album was been at #1 for months in both the US and here in the UK, it comprises every #1 hit the Beatles had in USA and Britain!

The Beatles Beatles Beatles unofficial site has news articles regarding the 'Paul is Dead' story, has media interviews from CNN and other organisations with band members and song lyrics. Good site!
John Lennon Official * Working Class Hero (Unofficial)
John Lennon, like all the Beatles, was a genius in the 20th Century! He was stopped in a peak in his career that latest all his life!

'Working Class Hero' offers E-cards, Photos, Quotes, Midi jukebox, and a chat room, dedicated to the 'Northern Lad'. As well as being greeted by one of Lennon's masterpieces!
George Harrison Official * Harrison's Lyrics Page (Unofficial)
'Old Blueyes' Frank Sinatra said that "Something" was the greatest love song every written, which says something about the "Quiet Beatle"s talent. I have to say "Give me love" is my favourite song by the Beatles or individual members.

Official site is a memorial! Worth watching!
Paul and Lynda McCartney appear on the Simpsons (c) Matt Groening, taken from The Sunday Times Magazine 17th March 2002 Paul McCartney Driving Rain Official * Wingspan Official * Liverpool Sound Collage Official *
Haven't heard much of his work outside the Beatles. I'm sure its good stuff!

The Official site is the official site of his new album "Driving Rain". I like the new album, but I know most people my age would hate it! He wrote it when he was just starting his relationship with Heather, now his wife. The music has that romantic, energetic, youthful feeling! Heather did say Paul was the youngest man [at heart] she had ever met, you can hear that in this album.
Bob Marley Official * Bob Marley SuperSite (Unofficial)
'The Rastaman vibration is positive!"
Robert Nesta Marley is one of the greats of the last century. To download free MP3's which are not covered by copyright then visit ReggaeScientist and then click the Sound link! ReggaeScientist has MP3's from many other reggae acts, not just Bob! [TimeWarner took the Reggaescientist site down due to excessive bandwidth use!]
The Doors Official * The Doors iscool (Unofficial)
Only when I got the "Best of..." album did I realised how many great songs these guys released! True greats!
Beluga Official
Beluga logo @ Pheonix Festival 1997 (c) Pete Fielder-Shaw Not biased, but Great band!

"Some nice tight guitar sounds" - The Drumlake Experiment GIGGING - EZBoard

Unsigned band from the Chester area. Supported the Complete Stone Roses (2002), were down to support Ian Brown (see below), and are supporting the Bluetones (10/12/2002), they are building a nice little cv including a gig at the Cavern last year (2001). The band consists of Roy (rhythm guitar and vocals), Pete (bass and vocals), Jon (lead guitar), Joel (drums), and the Cheef (Adam) as the Cheef (and keyboards).

Beluga are headlining a gig at Wrexham Central this Friday (10th Jan 2003). This gig will be their last for a while as they prepare an EP. For more info on the gig click here to read the Evening Leader article previewing the beluga gig.
Supporting beluga on Friday will be Pocket Venus. A great review of their "Make it through the day" EP can be found here. Their official site : The unofficial site is updated regularly. Also supporting are the Draft.

"...have been together for five years, drawing on influences such as The Beatles, Supergrass, Super Furry Animals, The Police, and The Smiths." - Flintshire Evening Leader, 3rd December 2001, article previewing beluga's support to the bluetones Wrexham gig.
The Loving Cup Official
Band from the same area as Beluga, but more of a Country Rock type vibe going on here. Great sounds coming from their last demo, and I think an album is due out sometime in the near future after a war broke out between labels for their signiture, interest from the States too. The website contains downloadable audio files (.mp3, .wma, and .rma) for you to listen to - Including "Perpendicular Man", "Been Away Too Long", and "Son Of A Gun" aswell as maybe one or two more. These are one to listen out for!
For more bands from North Wales area try StunMusic

The Flaming Lips Official
"Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots" isn't a 1980's NES or SNES game, its The Flaming Lips latest offering to the world of music. In my humble opinion its the Sergent Pepper of our generation, such a great concept album. Just as Pepper is a show given by his Lonely Hearts Club Band, this album is a story through which we are lead. Its not an album of songs on their own, they all seem to fit perfectly into the whole. The Flaming Lips are a Grandaddy meets Ben Folds sounding bunch of Americans who have given us a masterpiece! "... Yoshimi is astonishing. The greatest album released in Uncut's lifetime" - **** Uncut.

"Her name is Yoshimi. She's a black belt in karate working for the city. She has to discipline her body, cause he knows that it's demanding to defeat those evil machines. I know she can beat them..." - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots pt.1 - from "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" - the Flaming Lips
Bowling for Soup Official? It was a pure guess if it is [links to a Doncaster music website, sorry]
Chris van Malmsteen, of Bowling for Soup, having a tough time with the fans! Poor bloke! (c) Q magazine, Andy Cotterill Dec 2002. Used without permission, sorry! Why Bowling for Soup? Because my mates in Uni think we are going to look like Bowling for Soup by the time we are in our thirties! I, as those close to me will guess, am going to look like Chris van Malmsteen, one of the guitarists I believe. To give you an idea of what is like a quote from Q magazine (Dec 2002) : "I'm a fat guy travelling the World playing in a band. I am as happy as f**k!"
Thats the only reason I've added them, coz apparently when my metabolism crashes I will be the guitarist from Bowling for Soup!!
Feeder Official
Their new album "Comfort in Sound" is one of the best of 2002! Its got guts and emotion. After the death of drummer Jon Lee, hung himself in his home in the US January 2002, the band decided to carry on. This album is testament to that, with many lyrics seemingly having more than undertones of sadness at the loss of a dear friend - "I miss you more than words can say...". But its not a sad album, its got great beats, brilliant riffs, and I doubt you won't be able to resist singing along to the songs! Buy it I recommend this one!
(Tip: if you buy from cd-wow you get the Japanese version with 2 extra tracks including the wonderful "Opaque")
The Coral Official * Zionegg (Unofficial)
The Coral is the best debute album! Mercury Music Award nominees along with Electric Soft Parade, these lads from the Wirral, "we're not scousers!", are a blend of the Doors, the La's, theres a slight hint of a two-tone vibe,... Don't just take my word for it, buy the album via cd-wow. I have been told by my sister that they are great live as well, she saw them @ V2002. So it looks like they are already the complete package!
The Crescent Official
A new up and coming act from Huyton, Liverpool. The new album "The Crescent" comes out on Monday 30th September 2002! All reviews off their live gigs have been great, and the mp3's I managed to download sound like these are very promising! In the same genre as the Coral!
The Leaves Official - another guess at a website
I've only heard one of their tracks, but they sound quality, so I have added them here. More to follow once I've heard more of them.
Oasis Official *
Heathen Chemistry! If you've listened to this you'll know the Gallagher brothers seem to be in love. Songbird and She is Love are brilliant songs within some classic Oasis sounds of... well all the other songs. Good album!
Ben Folds Official * BenFolds.org (Unofficial)
Ben Folds music is amazing! I can't stop listening to it, and the lyrics makes sense, mean something, and hit home. Rocking the Suburbs is a great album! To hear a clip of all his tracks go to these sites, I think most you will love the song "Rocking the Suburbs"! Ben come to the UK! If you want Ben to do the UK sign the petition here NOW!

OK he played the UK, but why not him as the headliner? Why with another band - Devine Comedy? Come back Ben to tour, but on yer own!
Badly Drawn Boy Official * Links to Unofficial Sites
The official website of the Mercury Best Album prize winner of 2000, with 'Hour of Bewilderbeast' (click on the centre of the tree for this). Layout is abit wierd on this site, must have time to look at it, click on the stars on the tree, ladder, thing on the top right (?), or airship.
His music is worth listening to! Whats "Have you fed the fish?" like???
Coldplay Official * Coldplaying (Unofficial)
Their debute album 'Parachutes' is a classic. All that can be said is brilliant!
A Rush Of Blood To The Head, the new album, comes out this Monday (UK : 26/08/2002). According to the reviews it is better and livelier than Parachutes, but I'll wait to hear for myself. But if "In My Place" is anything to go by then it may be better!

UPDATE! The album is brilliant!!!!! #1 in 9 or 10 countries, reaching number 5 in the US! Will Champion [ColdPlay member] may be fed up with it, but its a classic on the same level as Parachutes!
The Electric Soft Parade Official * Best ESP Site this side of Brighton (Unofficial) * Some links from BandLink (Unofficial)
Alex White [Drums, Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Synthesizers, Violin, Drum Machine, Piano] and Tom White [Vocals, Guitar, Synthesizers, Bass, Drum Machine, Piano], aka The Electric Soft Parade, have recorded and released an inspirational album "Holes In The Wall"!
Song after song is hard hitting and emotional. These have got what it takes!

Trouble These people have no taste!
The Datsuns Official
Only heard "MF from Hell" by these, but its just pure rock. Great song, the debute album is out now from these New Zealanders.
David Gray David Gray (Click Here) Official * Unofficial
The University of Liverpool graduate, and writter of his forth album, 'White Ladder' which he released on his own lable 3 years ago and sold 100,000 copies from his kitchen before a lable signed him up, now its a multi-million selling, award winning album! White Ladder fell out of the top 20 in early 2002 after being released in what must have been 1999. Click on David's face to open, helps to have Flash.

This man is a genius of this era! I know genius' shouldn't be rushed in their work, but Dave when'e the next album due? Its due on 28th October 2002 and is called "A New Day At Midnight"!!! Anyone from the Physics dept of Liverpool Uni, does he not look like Luke from fourth year?????
Travis Travis Official * Unofficial
I doubted that "Man Who" could be bettered! But "the Invisible band" is an amazing album. I know the metal heads slag Travis off for being clean cut, but the truth is these guys are true musicians and are top class! Their in it for the art and not the fame. Lads keep doing what you do so well!
Mercury Rev Official * Unofficial
"All Is A Dream" their last album is one you can listen to over and over again.
Beautiful music!
Grandaddy Grandaddy Landscape Official * kaytronika (Unofficial)
Great band from California, USA, they are a Alternative Indie style band. The Sophtware Slump album is very easy to listen to, can't really get bored with it.
Personal review pages : Sophtware Slump ; Unbarred Magazine ;
Polyphonic Spree UK Official * Two part interview with Tim DeLaughter, the founder and lead singer of the Spree
Anyone see them on "Later... with Jools Holland" will have seen how infexious their music is. I bought "The beginning stages of..." (their first album) and have to say what they played on Later was the best stuff. The last track on their album is tooo experimental - 36 mins of an octave being messed about with, no lyrics nothing, just sounds like a kid being given a toy musical instrunment to play with for 36 mins and putting on the album. What was DeLaughter thinking? OK its a brilliant album, except for the last track!
Bluetones Official
Hadn't heard of these untill Beluga bassist, Pete, mentioned they were supporting the Bluetones so I downloaded a few tracks via KazaaLite and really like what I heard! All the tracks on the "Singles" album are amazing! Great band. Nothing else to add.
Idlewild Official
Only just got into these after reading an interview with Badly Drawn Boy in which he rated highly Idlewild. Downloaded a few MP3's and will get one of their albums soon.

Music industry has to realise MP3's work in their favour sometimes. I know I am not the only one who has downloaded MP3's (probably against copyright - not sure) and decided to buy the album in the near future, or when money is in the bank.
NEXT LITTLE SECTION ADDED AFTER ONE GUY RECOMMENDED ONE OF THESE LADIES, SO I CARRIED THE SECTION ON FURTHER...

Ms. Dynamite. Official *
Da new R&B / garage / reggea (whatever) superstar of da UK. Hardhitting lyrics, great tunes, brillant artist! Her lyrics are so truthful they're shockin! The whole A Little Deeper album is full of world truths and brilliantly presented in a way da youth will understand.

You'll notice a link between the girls listed now, all are brilliant artists and all are beautiful. I think Ms Dynamite is unfair in Q magazine (Dec 2002) where she says "Argh, I look like an Alien!". I mean have u seen da photo on da front of her album?

The links on her site say something about this artist! ChildLine, and info about Aids and other STD's!

A Little Deeper is available from cd-wow for £8.99. I got the Canadian version from them. They save money by importing the cds and missing out the taxman.
Alicia Keys Official * J Records, the label she is signed to
Another REALLY beautiful artist! "Songs in A minor" is a great album, heartfelt lyrics and generous with the sweet melodies. If the excellent "Loving U" is what she can do quickly, ["Let me try something real quick" - Alicia Keys, begining of "Loving U" hidden track on 'Songs in A minor'], then the stuff she takes time over is brilliant! You'll know what I mean if you have the album, the New Zealand and Australian version (1CD) is available for £6.99 from cd-wow!
Amy Studt Official
OK this is a mixed up singer-songwriter teenage girl, but is extremely talented! Her influences are quoted as Marilyn Manson and KoRn, but she is the Simon Fuller's new artist and her voice is discribed by her label as "singing like an angel, soaring between notes like a chorister". Just a Little Girl is a GREAT track. This, I thought was a bit of a girlie or mum's choice, untill I saw the video (video recommended by Fez), but she is good, even if some won't like her style!

When is her material being released? Anyone know out there? OK... one person has mentioned her to me - not via email, telling me to include a link, now all you people out there haven't said anything about her. Anybody interested?
Jewel Kilcher, aka Jewel - picture taken from The Times Magazine 26th January 2002, photo taken by Pat Pope. @ 72.5kB Jewel Official * Official site from label * Pieces of UK (Unofficial UK based) *
A bit of a girlie one I've added here, but Jewel's music is soo peaceful, meaningful, and telling the truth about life that I had to include it! Plus lads look at her (she's on the left) you may start to like her too!
Shakira Official * Absolute.net - Photos (Unofficial) * Shakira UK *
Honestly, I like her music, I haven't included just coz she's really good looking and can really move her hips! Honest! That sounds like I have included her coz of her looks doesn't it? I can't win either way!

The UK site has Windows Media Player skins to download!!! I think PJ agreed with this one for the music, Fez only really agreed because of Shakira.

According to The Times review of her only UK gig she is a real Rock chick, doing some AC/DC numbers as well as her Spanish / English numbers.
Michelle Branch Official * UK Unofficial *

The only place in the world you'll be able to find Michelle's first album "Broken Bracelet" released on an independent label, cost $21.00 (about £15, not too expensive!) inc.p&p to the UK, and countries outside the US and Canada!
This 18year old American singer song writer is taking America by storm, at the moment (21 / 05 / 2002) she is in the top 10 in the Albums chart over there and looks like she should do the same here! Dido has a match! Plus she isn't bad looking, I am really digging myself in it here!

Plus she said on T4 "I don't like those body builders, they are a turn off. I prefer the ones that look like they need to go home to Mum and be well fed." Wahay!!
Vanessa Carlton Official * Vanessa Carlton Online (Unofficial fansite) * Ne Not Nobody *
Chill out and listen to A Thousand Miles, wow! Plus she looks great as well as creating brilliant tunes. I haven't heard the rest yet, but Grokster will be getting them for me soon. Looks and sounds the perfect girl-next-door.

I think Matt agreed with me on this one. She plays the Manchester Academy soon!
Britney Spears appears on the Simpsons (c) Matt Groening, taken from The Sunday Times Magazine 17th March 2002 Britney Official * Official site * Britney UK (Unofficial) *
OK, I have included her coz she's really good looking! OK! But the others I like their music!!! Or to quote a mate of mine "Britney is really good looking untill you get to her face!" he said it without blinking! I think thats very unfair, she is stunning! Just look at her on this picture, "Oihhh! Suits you Mr Burns, suits you! Oihhh"

The UK site has Windows Media skins to download!!!

Have you heard the tabloid gossip (17th and 18th December 2002) about Britney and Matt from OneTrueVoice, Popstars (the Rivals) boyband? Apparently she said he was cute, and so he contacted her PA and arranged a date! He comes from a place less than 5 mins away from me, and he is going out with Britney Spears next month!!!! Argh! The lucky little ****! Britney Spears, I mean THE Britney Spears!
I DON'T THINK MOBY IS A LADY OF MUSIC SO I GUESS THAT SECTION HAS JUST FINISHED!

Moby Official * Unofficial
Not quite as nice looking as the previous four, but this is a link to the official site of the 2001 MTV Award winner, 2001 Ministry of Sound Poll winner, and 2001 Grammy, 2001 NME, 2001 NRJ (France) Awards nomanee! Must be doin' someting right!

Eminem's favourite musical artist! I'm sure Shady's a fan of Techno, aren't you!
Turin Brakes Official * Mind Over Money (Unofficial)
In one of the first articles I read about Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian, aka Turin Brakes, said that this band came from Scandinavia. I don't know about that... but they are brilliant! The Optimist Lp is the best album of 2001!
Audio clip : "Underdog (Save me)" On this page click the play (>) button on the flash application

The Mind Over Money site has Olly doing a diary of the new album's progress! Looks set to be released in January 2003! Fingers crossed!
Ian Brown Official * Unofficial last updated 1998 * The complete fans site - upto date!! (Unofficial) *
I know this should be the Madchester crowd below but I don't care. The "Music of the Spheres" album was beyond anything I can say here! The quotes on the front say it all "...His best work since the Stone Roses...stunning!" - FHM, "brown's best work for a decade" - GQ, "Music of the Spheres reminds you who got custody of the inspiration when 1989's most important band split" - Q, "Brown still deserves admiration. Music of the Spheres sustains his lofty position above the clouds" - UNCUT... got the picture?

DOH! I believed, like an idiot, that the unofficial site would have upto date info on. I know someone who plays in BELUGA a band meant to be supporting Ian Brown in Buckley, NWales, but alas I and they got it wrong. The last update was in 1998! Come on sort it, please!
John Squires Official * John Squires - The Unofficial Site
The lead guitarist from the Stone Roses starting his solo career in 2002. His new album is released this month [Sept '02] to mixed reviews, but if it is from the same sort of genre as Stone Roses, or Ian Brown then it is sure to be good! The unofficial site is as comprefensive as the official site, if not more so.
Air Official *
I lent their Moon Safari album from my sister and was impressed by their instrumentals, and would suggest getting this album for just chilling out to. On the same label (but in France) as Turin Brakes, which is SOURCE!
Beck Official *
I haven't heard much of his stuff, but what I did hear I liked!
Doves [SHOULD BE HIGHER UP THE PAGE] Official *
They have followed their first album with a brilliant classic, "The Last Broadcast"! Fridays' Dust is a slow melodic masterpiece, my favourite of the album! I know thats a wierd choice from such a great set of songs but its how it is.

A former Madchester dance band called "SubSub"! For more info go to Manchester!

Real Audio clips from first album as Doves: Catch the Sun / Rise (Live)
The Verve Official [last updated 1997] * Unofficial *
Apparently the bassist's Dad is a lecturer in University of Liverpoool. I know you wanted to know that!
Richard Ashcoft's lyrics and the bands talent means the "Urban Hymns" is a classic! His new album is our this October!
The Farm Mark Weaver (Unofficial)
A great band from the Madchester era. "Groovy Train" is probably their most famous hit!
Stone Roses .co.uk Unofficial * MerseyParadise Unofficial * Elephant Stoned Unofficial * StoneRoses.net Unofficial (see here for info for "The Complete Stone Roses" tribute band) *
Ian Brown's original outfit!
Very good fan site for the Roses! or there is Resurrection, or just got one of the Top50 Stone Roses Sites

The .co.uk site is from the same people as ianbrownonline.co.uk

The Complete Stone Roses gigs are a great night! I recommend you go to see the Official Tribute Band! Mani (Roses bassist) sometimes appears with them, and takes the bass from the tribute bassist! Squire is also meant to like them.
Happy Mondays Unofficial *
There has to be a Bez in all of us! (Thank God most of us don't know where!)
The Charlatans : aka "The Charlatans UK" [for you Yanks reading this] Official * Wonderland (Unofficial)
Just released their new album [in 2001]. Tim Burgess, the original Northwich boy's move to the States has had an affect on their style, from Northern indie to East Coast US. I've listened through the Wonderland album once, and prefer their earlier stuff, the new stuff is stuff that will take time to grow, since the couple I'd already heard I do like - "A man needs to be told" and "Love is the key"!

The unofficial site is better than the official site [recommended by Richy], in my opinion! Only thing the official site wins at is the latest news!

Released their "best of" album, and the "best of the b-side" album, and another album all in 2002!
Toploader Official *

Robbie Williams Official *
Robbie certainly opened his case of tricks with "Swing When Your Winning". Anyone remember a cheeky lad in some Manc band, uhm, TakeThat I think, went by the name Robbie Williams, wonder what happened to him! More to the point what about Gary, Mark, Jason, and Howard? [Sad, I remembered their names!! MARK MADE IT ONTO CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER, but someone asked me a good question : "What does Mark Owen do now?", I blabbered something about him being a music producer, but I ain't got a clue. Anyone help?]

According to Kerrang, Mr Williams has the basest and drummer from KoRn as fans! Wierd world! Why is KoRn mentioned so much on this page? I haven't got a clue, and I've written it! [DISCLAIMER: I don't read Karrang or MetalHammer, I hate metal 'music' - usually. It seems only immature people listen to it. As Sid Vicious (case in point! I am talking bollox here, I haven't the foggiest who said it but Sid's name came into my head at this moment and I put it down. Sorry if I cause offence - but it could be any Sid Viscous, just like the real Joe Bloggs or John Doe must be pissed off by now) said "todays generation are not revolting against anything", thats where people who like metal should look. What can they revolt against, instead of promoting Hate, Destruction, and Murder! Grow up!! Slipknot say it all! A bunch of teenage/twentysomethings wearing masks screaming about how crap their generations lives are. Do something constructive instead of acting like a bunch of idiots in fancy dress!!]
Fat Boy Slim Official *
This is the man that gets away with buying his wife a poledancing pole for the front room, and gets her to perform to guests including her Dad, aka Jonny Ball, 1980's kids science presenter. [[who told me this? It sounds libelous to me! ANYONE?]]
Radiohead Official *
For those who like the depressive mood of their meloncholy music! Sometimes I can like what they do. Haven't heard their stuff in years, since my sisters moved out and took all their cds with them!
